Follow the Sun winners announced

Three lucky families score three-month paid trip and RV makeover worth up to $35,000 each

After an exhaustive five-month search and a record 8000 entries, Dometic has announced two young families and a retired couple as its 2014 Follow the Sun ambassadors.

The winners each receive a $25,000 makeover of their own RV – basically a full fit out of Dometic Australia products such as fridges, awnings, cookers, toilets, lighting, and mobile power equipment – before hitting the road for an expenses paid 13 week promotional tour.

Queenslanders Corey and Kellie Stephenson, both 33, and their five-year old son Zac will be exploring Victoria, South Australia and NSW, while retired nurse, Denise Parks and her husband, Terry from the Sunshine Coast, will tour NSW. ??

The third winning group, Michael and Michelle Lucas, from East Ballina and two of Michelle’s three daughters, Samantha, Linda and Julia, will enjoy a family jaunt across Queensland.

Each group will set off in August, with the total prize value for each winner up to $35,000.

It won’t be all sightseeing and playing around with the latest gadgets though; each winner will be required to 'connect' with residents and tourists at local caravan parks along the way as well as host ‘Follow the Sun – Happy Hours’ to show off their Dometic appliances to fellow travellers.

Olympian and Discover Downunder host, Brooke Hanson, will also be dropping in at some of the happy hours along the way to mingle with fellow campers.?

Dometic Australia’s General Manager After Market Sales, Paul Montaut said he was looking forward to seeing what the next three winning families would experience following the success of last year's ‘Follow the Sun’ campaign. ??

“We are excited to fit out the winners’ vehicles and can’t wait to spruce up their camping and caravanning equipment with the latest top of the range Dometic and Waeco products,” he said.

Regular blogs describing the ambassadors’ adventures will be posted via social media and at the official Follow the Sun website.
