Fleetwood recalls 31 campers

Safety recall of recently built Coromal Navigator campers due to a potential braking failure

Fleetwood Recreational Vehicles has announced a safety recall in relation to its latest range of Coromal pop-up camper trailers.

The West Australian manufacturer of Coromal and Windsor caravans is recalling 31 Navigator campers (NT391, NT421, NT422 and NT451 variants) built between August 1 and October 17, 2014.

“A defect has been identified in the installation of the electric braking system,” Fleetwood RV said. “As a result there may be inefficient braking, or in the worst case scenario, no braking capacity assistance at all.  This poses an accident hazard to the driver and other road users.”

Owners of affected campers should “contact their selling dealer immediately for an inspection and rectification if required”.

The latest recall is the eighth Australian safety recall so far this year for recreational vehicles, with Jayco (with four recalls), Aussie Swag Campers, Thetford, and Asia Motors accounting for the other seven.
