Not longer after off-loading its struggling Coromal and Windsor caravan businesses, Perth based Fleetwood Australia has bought Melbourne-based Northern RV for $10 million.
The purchase of the major caravan plumbing and electrical services and parts supplier is a boost to Fleetwood's remaining RV business, accessories specialist Camec.
Fleetwood CEO Brad Denision said the acquisition “extends Camec’s reach into the key Campbellfield RV manufacturing market in Melbourne which will increase integration with Fleetwood’s important OEM customers in Melbourne”.
Northern RV was founded in 2006 by licensed plumber David Slorach, and provides specialized plumbing and electrical labour and parts to the production lines of medium-sized caravan manufacturers in Melbourne’s caravan manufacturing hub of Campbellfield.
The business provides plumbing kits and labour to around a third of the 22,000 caravans manufactured annually in Australia, as well as an increasing number of imported caravans that required local certification and compliance work. Last financial year it had revenue of $15.7 million and $4.7 million profit before tax.
David Slorach will remain with Northern RV after the acquisition.
