Fishing Tip: Fish love structure

Fishing advice provided by iFish TV

We live in beautiful homes and fish live in and around structure. So if you want to find the majority of fish species, all you need to do is find structure. It's pretty simple really.

A pier, break wall, reef, channel marker, oyster rack, weed bed, shipwreck, seamount, the continental shelf are all great examples of structure that will aggregate fish.

Even dolphinfish (mahi mahi) are suckers for structure. If you see anything floating in the open ocean there's a better than average chance it will hold one or more dolphin fish. From tree trunks to buoys and anything else that floats, dolphin fish will make it their home.

So anytime you wet a line, take the time to think about the structure in the area, that may offer a home to the fish you hope to catch. Find that structure, fish it hard and you may just find an increase in your catch rate.
