The drip-feed of information about the world’s first carbon-fibre caravan continues, with the release of the first interior photos of the revolutionary CR-1 Carbon RV model.
According to its American manufacturer Global Caravan Technologies, the interior of the 35-foot long, six-berth, twin-axle caravan includes such lavish appointments as a custom leather wrapped ceiling, private-jet type leather soft touch walls and top-end luxury residential furnishings.
The versatile floorplan includes comfortable seating for eight in the rear entertainment lounge, while a walk-through master bath suite that divides the kitchen from the master bedroom features a private toilet with a porcelain stool and large linen cabinet.
"In the bath suite, we wanted to take designs even further, and GCT's CR-1 Carbon feels more like a luxury New York apartment than an RV," said CGT CEO Charles Hoefer.
The five-star, master bedroom suite alone is equipped with residential carpeting, hand-crafted leather upholstery, multiple reading lights, a carbon fibre bed frame, two dressers, three wardrobes and an optional, honeymoon-style glass ceiling.
Backed by Chinese investors and built in conjunction with motorsport specialist Dallara IndyCar, the gloss black CR-1 model was first revealed on March 6 at a private function in Indiana, USA.
The super-luxury model has been designed for global markets including Europe, UK and Australia, with pricing expected to start at US$160,000.
