A new battery-powered campervan and a cute egg-shaped caravan will be among a large number of new-product releases at this year's Queensland Caravan & Camping Supershow at the Brisbane Showgrounds in early June.
A new Queensland business called AdventurEV will be displaying its first battery-powered campervan conversion, based on a new Chinese-built Skywell commercial van being distributed in Australia by EV Automotive.
The AdventurEV display at the Brisbane Showgrounds will include a ready for camping, 6.0m long x 2.7m high, Skywell EC11 E-Cargo van which according to the EV Automotive website, comes equipped from the factory with a 73.6kWh battery, CCS Type 2 charging and a 22kW capacity AC onboard charger – good for a range of between 200 to 300km depending on the load.
Also on the stand will be an 'empty' battery-electric Farizon SuperVan which AdventurEV is also offering as a campervan conversion. The Queensland start-up is also planning to offer a larger C-class EV motorhome down the track.
Also guaranteed to turn heads is a display of the unique UK-built Barefoot fibreglass monocoque caravans that first arrived in Australia in early 2024. The baby ensuite caravans offer plenty of retro styling while packing in the features in a super lightweight package.
Meanwhile Brisbane-based Bruder X will be showcasing its new 'cut-price' ADX-21 composite caravan for the first time at the show, along with its hi-tech $343,000 EXP-8 expedition trailer.
Also making their show debut will be the new range of fixed-price Gold Class off-grid caravans from MDC, while YouTubers Aussie Destinations Unknown will have its $300K-plus Sunland LTD ADU gas-free caravan on display.
In another new reveal, Coomera, Queensland-based Hitch Campers is pulling the wraps off a new hybrid camper called the Madigan. The new model will add to Hitch's premium locally built lineup that includes a lightweight toy hauler, truck motorhome and box camper.
Also expected to make a first-time appearance at the Queensland Supershow is the new Harvok DreamCruise 48V blacktop caravan, and Cub Campers' new top-shelf C18 caravan.
Motorhome buyers will be able to take a close look at the new 60th Anniversary models from Avida, Dream Drive's latest imported Toyota HiAce 4x4-based Kuma campervan, and possibly the first motorhome from Melbourne caravan manufacturer Willow.
Sydney's Trakka will have a three-vehicle display at Brisbane, including a Jabiru J2M AWD with the Adventure Garage slide-out, Fiat-based Torino and a Jabiru J2 AWD campervan.
Must-see new camper trailers on display include Patriot's ST5 Supertourer (alongside the Patriot Games' Mack Truck transporter), and the latest range of lightweight bush trailers from Solquest campers, while the Clesana C1 waterless toilet and Cybertake portable air conditioner will be among the latest releases in the products and accessories section.
And for those thinking about a new tow vehicle, the yet-to-be-released Kia Tasman dual-cab ute will also be on display. Check out our first off-road drive of Kia's first 4x4 ute here.
Free entertainment at this year's Supershow includes VANSafe Masterclass towing education seminars, Mick's camp oven cooking demos, and children's activities over the weekend include fun train rides and clown school.
