First Euro slider van coming

Adria to reveal new slide-out and rough-road models at Queensland Caravan Supershow

Adria will unveil new ‘rough road’ and ‘slide-out’ caravan models at next month’s Queensland Caravan, Camping and Touring Supershow.

It’s the first time the lightweight, Slovenian-built caravans will be available in Australia (and possibly the world) with a slide-out section, which will be available on the range-topping, tandem axle, 22ft 4in Adora model.

According to new Australian Adria distributor Apollo Motorhome Holidays, the electric slide-out for the Adora 612PT was developed specifically for Australia and “extends the dinette area at the push of a button”.

Apollo said there will be "no penalty of extra weight" from the new slide-out section, which sits "flush to the vehicle body" when retracted.

"The seamless seal has no gaps or other passageways for water ingress and the fully-enclosed drive system means no pinch-points. The quad drive mechanism is computer controlled, silent and requires no complicated maintenance, just the occasional cleaning," the Queensland-based company said.

Responding “to the huge demand for semi off-road travel”, Apollo is also offering a single axle, four-berth Altea model with 88mm more road clearance and some checker plate protection around the base for when travelling on dirt or gravel roads.

The rough road version of the Adria Altea 552UP also gains an ABL multi-functional outlet for USB, TV and 12V supply, and a bigger 130 litre fresh water tank that's installed under the floor rather than inside the van, to free up internal storage.

Adria’s increasingly ‘Australianised’ range of composite bodied caravans have been officially available Down Under since 2007. All Australian-spec models feature stronger Al-Ko chassis, thicker side walls and window supports,  along with other changes like increased water storage, bigger fridges and ensuites, compared to similar European-spec models.

The full range of Adria caravans including the new semi off-road and slide-out models will be on display at the Queensland Supershow, which runs from June 3-9 at the Brisbane Showgrounds.
