First drive: 2021 Isuzu MU-X

Can new feature-packed, seven-seater off-roader justify its bold new pricing?

Following in the wheel tracks of the new-generation Isuzu D-MAX ute on which it’s based, the seven-seat 2021 Isuzu MU-X has been overhauled from the ground up.

Long favoured by adventurous families and those who tow for its rugged ability and value, the new MU-X has gone upmarket in terms of features, refinement, and price. It’s also stronger, safer, smarter and more capable, and with a class-leading 3.5-tonne tow rating.

But while the second-generation large SUV has been worth the wait, can this classy new seven-seater justify its bold new pricing?
