Fancy new 2026 Lotus caravan range revealed

Melbourne hardcore off-road specialist packs more into fewer models

Melbourne's Lotus Caravans has ripped the covers off its latest 2026 range, which features fewer models but delivers more upmarket appeal thanks to LC Customs' option packs now included as standard across the line-up.

Headed by three new Trooper variants and an entry-level Off Grid model, the Lotus MY26 off-road caravan range now starts at around the $180,000 mark with the more feature-packed Off Grid, available in 17ft 9in to 21ft body lengths and seven couple and family layouts.

Standard Off Grid kit includes a 300Ah lithium battery system with a 3000W inverter and 750W rooftop solar, 240 litre water storage and Cruisemaster XT Level 3 manual airbag suspension.

The MY26 Lotus Off Grid also comes standard with the LC Customs' Styling Bracket, Stealth Solar Panel Bracket, Drag Wing, Stealth Toolbox and Premium Entertainment Pack.

Body construction is an aluminium frame with marine-grade composite panels and checker plate, fibreglass walls, Sancell insulation and honeycomb flooring, with a painted S&M Gen 2 chassis with gooseneck A-frame, Cruisemaster DO-35 coupling, 12in drum brakes and Cooper Rugged Trek tyres on 17in Dirty Life wheels, also part of the deal.

Trooper now available in three trim grades

Previously a single model, the Lotus Trooper is now available in three different spec levels: the Trooper, Trooper TRX and Trooper Platinum.

The Trooper comes standard with a 400Ah lithium battery system with 850W solar, 3000W inverter, 240L water, Cruisemaster XT Air BCS suspension and five LC Customs' fabricated aluminium exterior add-ons.

The Trooper TRX takes it up a notch with a 600Ah lithium battery system with 1250W solar and two 3000W inverters, while the top-spec Trooper Platinum gets an even bigger 900Ah lithium battery system with 1450W solar, along with 335L total water capacity, Cruisemaster ATX BCS suspension with M60 shocks, Duraplate body protection, an X Guard-coated chassis and a BOS jockey wheel and stabiliser legs.

The Trooper Platinum also goes to another level inside, with a dishwasher, a choice of fixed or portable induction cooker, Thinscape benchtops, diesel heating and an 'over-sized' ensuite among the many standard goodies.

"The Trooper Platinum takes everything Lotus Caravans is known for and turns it up another gear. Every component, every system, every finish has been chosen for travellers who want the finest caravan ever built for Australian conditions," the 21-year old manufacturer says on its website.

Choice of two big bitumen tourers

Lotus has also streamlined its on-road range, with just two models now available for 2026: the family-friendly tandem-axle Transformer available in 22ft 3in and 23ft 3in body sizes, and the range-topping 24ft Hollywood with slide-out lounge and bedroom.

Both come loaded up with a minimum 400W lithium battery/650W solar/3000W inverter power system and at least four LC Customs accessories, along with 190L water capacity and a truss chassis with Torflex independent suspension.

As well as the bundled LC Customs' packs, the MY26 Lotus line-up also stands out with a bold new front-end styling for the Trooper TRX and Platinum, extra LC Customs' bespoke fittings, and the latest Siegel Assured 'water tight' badging.

There are also some new layouts across the range, along with a few interior styling tweaks including new bedside shelving and speaker/reading light combinations, that enhance the premium feel.

Lotus targets prestige buyers

There are currently around a dozen brand-new MY26 Lotus 'vans on display at the Freestyle RVs dealer in Somerton, Victoria, with RRP prices starting from $181,700 (Off Grid), $205,150 (Trooper), $217,500 (Trooper TRX), $244,250 (Trooper Platinum) and $247,000 (Hollywood).

The Off Grid models come with ATM ratings of 3495kg, while the Trooper 'vans boast three tonne-plus Tare weights and can be loaded up to 3995kg.

While all the MY26 models have a distinct 'black out' appearance, buyers have the option to add subtle splashes of colour to side, front and rear exterior panels when ordering (10 different colours are available).

The MY26 line-up announcement is the third range revamp from Lotus in 2025, following the roll out of some new LCX models in June and the MY25 range release in January.

It also means Lotus no longer has a more affordable offering priced from under $130,000, with the entry-level Sprint introduced in 2024 discontinued. Freelander, Off Limits and Crystal River models have also been pulled from the line-up.

The new MY26 'vans are expected to start rolling off Lotus' Melbourne production line from May 2026.
