If you’re looking to buy a very well-equipped, off-road caravan and don't mind contributing to worthy causes, here’s a chance to do both.
A special ‘Tribute Series’ caravan built in memory of Option RV’s Steve Dumaloski, and displayed at last month’s Queensland Caravan Show, is still available for purchase.
The son of Chris Dumaloski, who started the Campbellfield, Victoria-based caravan manufacturing business in 2007, Steve worked alongside his two brothers and parents before dying in August last year at age 32, after an eight month battle with brain cancer.
The ‘Tribute Series 20’ van was built with the help of a number of industry specialists including G&S Chassis, which donated the hot-dipped galvanised chassis, and also features blue suspension and highlights to match the colour of Steve’s car, which is being kept for his son Jayden.
“Steve was loved by many people within the caravan industry,” the Dumaloski family said on Option RV’s facebook page.
“It was a rollercoaster of emotions for everyone involved in the build of the 'Tribute Series' van. We would like to thank the numerous suppliers, manufacturers and all our staff for their generosity and time. So much love and hard work was put into this van and we know Steve would be proud.”
The special 20ft van is currently for sale at Option RV’s Queensland dealer, Caravan World for $89,990 tow-away, with proceeds from the sale to go into a trust fund for Steve’s children, Jayden (5) and Madison (7).
With a Tare weight of close to three tonnes, the Tribute Series 20 comes with “a list of inclusions simply too big to list”, such as Dexter stability control, external kitchen, electric awning, 240Ah battery system with 600W solar panels, 218L compressor fridge, and Italian leather-covered lounge.
