It's official!
The innovative Harvok Suit of Armour caravan is Australia's most awarded caravan, at least in 2022, with the Melbourne-designed and Chinese-built, all-steel monocoque caravan picking up its third award in the space of four months.
Earlier this month the world-first 'full metal jacket' caravan won the Best New RV trophy in the 2022 caravancampingsales Innovation Awards, to go with a category gong at the 2022 Good Design Australia Awards.
Now to complete the trifecta, the tough-looking Harvok caravan has picked up a category award in a prestigious international design and architecture annual awards.
Held since 1950, the annual Good Design Awards are presented by the Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design and The European Centre for Architecture Art Design and Urban Studies, with this year's Awards attracting more than 1100 product designs and graphics from more than 50 countries.
The Harvok 'van was one of 25 products recognised for their design excellence in the Transportation category, with other category winners including the Ferrari 296 GTS and Daytona SP3 sports cars, Taur electric road scooter, Domus Trimaran solar electric yacht and the Electra electric ferry (the full list of winners can be found here).
"We did it again. Another super prestigious award. That's three awards this year for our monocoque Suit of Armour," Harvok's Regional Director - Pacific, Adrian Cappola told caravancampingsales.
Believed to be the first caravan built in an automotive factory, the Harvok Suit of Armour launched in early-2022 as the "world's first robot built, monocoque caravan", with slimmed down, 3500kg ATM-rated versions of the full-size, 48V powered van arriving in the country a few months later.
Harvok also offers the 'full metal jacket' 14ft 6in Playstation toy hauler camper, while a new 16ft single axle, full height model is expected to go on sale in Australia in early-2023.
