Two Australian-designed recreational vehicles -- the Kerfton Fouray four-berth camper trailer and the Harvok Suit of Armour family and couple's caravan -- have been recognised at the 2022 Good Design Australia Awards.
The eye-catching Kerfton was judged a Good Design Award 'Gold Winner', whereas the tough-looking Harvok Suit of Armour 'van picked up a gong in the Good Design Award Winner category.
Also selected as a Good Design Award Winner was the latest Maxtrax 4WD recovery system.
Introduced in early-2022, the innovative one-piece steel Harvok Suit of Armour 'van was designed by Harvok's Melbourne-based CEO Ben Liu and is being promoted as the "world's first robot built, monocoque caravan".
The sleek, glossy Kerfton compact family camper was designed by Barry Trippit, Raul Gonzalez Podesta and Owen Brown, with the aim to create an Aussie camper that looks as good as it functions.
More than 200 products and services were recognised in the 2022 Good Design Australia Awards, which have been promoting excellence in design and innovation since 1958.
The Awards represent the diverse spectrum of design with 11 specific design disciplines spanning 30 categories. More than 70 design experts from Australia and around the world judged more than 900 submissions in this year's Awards.
Previous RV-related winners of a Good Design Award include the Melbourne-built Track Trailer T4, the self-inflating Opus Air camper and the then radical Bolwell Air.
