An innovative new American camper that unfolds like a box in next to no time, going from a low-slung trailer to a hard-walled hybrid camper, is in the works.
Oregon-based Cube Series is hoping to put into production a towable version of its slide-on Cube camper module, that fits on the back of a variety of pick-up trucks.
While yet to release final production versions, the Cube camper revealed in November 2021 is set to be priced from USD$42,262, according to the Cube Series website.
"A revolutionary take on the traditional motorhome, the CubeSeries trailer is built using industry-grade aluminum, resilient composites, and numerous alloys as primary components. This gives the sleek trailer a seldom before seen sturdiness at a light weight," the American start-up said.
Other attributes of the unique fold-out camper include a load-bearing multi-purpose roof system, and waterproof, tough structured walls.
"It is easy to haul and has a patent pending smart folding system that makes setting it up in a matter of minutes," Cube Series said.

Fitted with a queen mattress, gas cooker and sink, fridge, water tanks, LED lighting and battery system, the Cube slide-on weighs around 545kg and is designed to fit on any standard small or mid-sized pick-up.
With proposed pricing of US$46,262, the trailer version will come in at around 16 feet (4.87m) in length and weigh less than 725kg, making it towable by a Toyota Prius, Suburu Forester or Jeep Wrangler.
Cube Series was co-founded by Rick Wise and Joe Orr, who are described as a "pair of former auto-industry veterans".
