Are you a leader or high achiever in the RV industry? Perhaps you’ve made a significant contribution to caravanning and camping in this country over a long period of time?
Some-one who could be described as a “true industry ambassador”?
The peak body for the Australian RV industry, the Caravan Industry Association of Australia, has opened nominations for this year’s Eric Hayman Award for Excellence.
Described as the “industry’s most prestigious award”, this year’s recipient will be announced at a gala dinner on May 13 during the 2016 National Conference on the Gold Coast.
According to the Caravan Industry Association, “any individual, group, company or organisation in the caravanning and camping industry” can be nominated for the award, which has been running for 26 years.
Previous winners (all believed to be male) have included Towing Guide author Gerry Newton, What’s Up Downunder producer Col Parrot, Winnebago/Avida RV boss Bruce Binns, Al-Ko executive Robert Funder, Caravanning Queensland CEO Ron Chapman, and the late Richard Davis OAM.
Eric Hayman founded a Melbourne-based tow bar business in the 1950s which went on to become towing equipment giant Hayman Reese.
Nominations for this year’s Awards close on April 22 and can be emailed (with two pages or less of explanatory notes) to Ron Chapman at ron@caravanqld.com.au
