Eterniti fesses up to water leaks

In a refreshing approach, fledgling UK caravan builder comes clean about production teething issues and announces speedy solutions

What do you do when after releasing some brand-new, cutting-edge caravan models onto the market they cop a battering online after some early production issues?

If you’re Eterniti, the UK’s newest caravan manufacturer, it seems you go on the front foot, come clean about any problems and announce some speedy fixes...

The refreshing approach follows negative comments on a number of on-line forums and social media websites, after delivery of the first batch of Eterniti caravans to customers in mid-February.

Acknowledging some early teething issues as well as delays in production, Eterniti managing director, Phil Daniels declared on its website it had fixed two faults in relation to the biggest concern of most caravan owners: water ingress.

In an announcement titled ‘Honesty is the best policy!’, Eterniti said it had brought in experts from the USA to solve a leaking issue in the company’s latest ‘eazzzzyslide’ slide-out. The solution was to replace the “smooth shiny GRP” used for the slide-out roof with the same TOP material found on the caravan roof, which provided a better surface to encourage water run-off.

Eterniti Caravans also made changes to a front window that was leaking “because the rubber seal was not tight to the Perspex due to the front window not being 100% correct in its fit”.

Describing itself as “an open relationship company (with) nothing to hide,” Eterniti launched a two-model range of lightweight touring vans at the NEC Motorhome and Caravan Show in Birmingham in October, 2012.

Like many European RV manufacturers Eterniti (which is yet to find a distributor Down Under), boasts cutting-edge composite construction, low Tare weights and latest interior design and fittings.
