End of the road for 62 year-old Sydney caravan dealer
Parravans Caravan World collapses owing more than $2millionLong-standing Windsor, NSW caravan dealer Parravans Caravan World is the latest RV business to shut up shop following a severe market downturn.
The Daily Telegraph is reporting the 62-year old multi-brand dealer has entered liquidation owing creditors $2.1million.
In June the Federal Court in NSW appointed Lindsay Stephen Bainbridge as liquidator of Mell Associates, which trades as Parravans Caravan World. The business reportedly owed more than $2 million to 55 unsecured creditors.
Bainbridge said that the dealer failed after expanding too rapidly during the COVID boom. Parravans staff were made redundant after it abandoned its Windsor sales yard in March.
“This largely restricted its operations to sale via expos and trade shows as well as continuing its caravan repair business,” he said.
Parravans represented a variety of different RV brands over the years, including Legion, Atlantic and Highclere caravans.
More recently it had a large display of mostly freshly imported Dream Journey RV 'vans at the 2026 NSW Caravan Supershow.
Mell Associates reportedly also owed $283,431 to employees’ superannuation and $96,552 in employee entitlements, although it had already paid back two creditors $1.81million.
