Emu campervans head upmarket

Melbourne-built van-based motorhomes get touring and luxury updates for 2023

Recent arrival to the Aussie RV market Emu RV & Nova Motorhomes is rolling out some big improvements to its Fiat Ducato-based campervan range.

Following customer feedback on its Melbourne-built E2S motorhome range, Penrith, NSW-based outlet Emu RV & Nova Motorhomes has announced a bunch of detail revisions for its upcoming 2023 range.

Now based on the latest eighth-generation Fiat Ducato, updates to the Emu RV E2S fit-out include improved interior storage options, with larger openings and extra hatches fitted under the single beds compared to the previous E2S model.

Emu RV & Nova Motorhomes has also recently moved to an 8mm thick high-density compressed laminate on new orders for all internal bench tops and tables, claiming some quality and durability benefits over the more traditional ply laminate used previously.

New rounded overhead cupboards imported from Germany have also lifted the feel and look of the camper conversion which is done in Melbourne by well-known RV brand Nova.

The magnetic option on the flyscreen door and rear are other new features introduced since the Emu RV & Nova Motorhomes brand launched in late 2020.

2023-build Emu campers also benefit from a new custom underslung water tank, that improves ground clearance and is made from 6-8mm fuel and food grade plastic.

Emu RV recently adopted the new Fiat Ducato Series 8 panel van for its conversions, which offers better fuel economy, enhanced turning circle and digital dash, among other improvements.

Luxury fit-out in $169,990 Emu RV show camper

Emu RV & Nova Motorhomes is showcasing many of the new features available on a new E2S XLWB demonstrator van built for the 2023 show season.

It's slightly longer than the E2S LWB van (6300mm versus 6000mm) we reviewed last year, and boasts a bigger (17 versus 15 cubed metres) internal space which allows for additional items including a hanger with removable shelves on the driver's side, and a longer kitchen bench with wider drawers and a larger overhead cupboard.

The optioned-up, limited edition E2S XLWB motorhome has a (NSW) driveaway price of $169,990, compared to $149,990 (driveaway NSW) for the E2S XLWB base white campervan.

Fiat provides a five-year/200,000km warranty and three years' roadside assistance for the base vehicle while the campervan fit-out is backed by Emu RV & Nova Motorhomes for three years.

The optioned-up 2023 Emu RV E2S XLWB show van will be on display at the Newcastle Caravan Camping Lifestyle Expo (February 3-5), along with other east coast caravan shows during 2023.
