West Australian off-road specialist Elross has released a new range-topping family off-grid caravan range, which the fast-growing Perth-based manufacturer describes as the “ultimate off-road family caravan”.
The new top-spec Elross ECXF-R bunk range is available in seven body lengths, with prices starting from $131,900 for the smallest single-axle 16ft 6in model and topping out at $189,900 for the 22ft dual-axle model.
For that you get all the top-shelf gear from the Elross catalogue including the latest Gen2 ECX Duragal boxframe chassis with Raptor coating, Cruisemaster ATX Level 3 wireless airbag suspension, electric hydraulic disc brakes, a Black Jack 12V jack stand and either a DO-35 or DO-45 coupling.
Full composite construction includes 50mm EPS polystyrene composite Colourbond steel body panels with additional checker plate protection, and the new ECXF-R vans also come standard with roof deflectors, underbody bash plates and a ladder package to assist when cleaning the five 200W rooftop solar panels fitted.
Other bespoke Elross touches include an extra-large Deluxe (1427L) toolbox on the drawbar, that doubles as a stone guard and is easily replaced if damaged, and a modular design slide-out kitchen that can be fitted with a combination of gas-burner cooker, induction cooktop, sink and BBQ depending on the buyer’s requirements.
The ECXF-R family vans also come standard with twin 160L freshwater tanks, 95L grey tank and an advanced filtration system, plus a big 600Ah lithium battery system with a Redarc 3000W inverter and 1000W rooftop solar, along with a Carafan CP700 ‘dust buster’, Camec 2.5kg washing machine, Bushman 230L fridge/freezer, NCE microwave, Axis 32in TV, Truma Aventa air conditioner, induction cooker and a Combi gas or diesel heater, for the option of ‘gas free’ camping.
Depending on the model there are twin-, triple- and quad-bunk layout options available, all with family-friendly bathrooms and luxury features like locally made Ruby Deluxe mattresses, plus the option of a Starlink mobile satellite internet service.
Elross Caravans’ General Manager Declan O’Brien said the recent move into a bigger 4000-square-metre factory in the Perth suburb of Maddington will allow the business to ramp up production and meet growing demand for its expanding line-up of customised off-road caravans, toy haulers and hybrids.
“[The factory move] has allowed us to refine our business practices and quality systems to provide even better and head-turning off-grid vans. Hopefully this also allows us to reduce our order times from our 15 month schedule we currently face,” he said.
