Elite Caravans has been named ‘Best Manufacturer 2013’ at the Caravan and Camping Industry Association (CCIA) Awards of Excellence held in Sydney last week.
The Melbourne-based manufacturer, which was the first to get approved by RVM Australia's new accreditation scheme, was recognized for its outstanding business performance and improvements throughout the year.
Since taking over the business in 2010, Elite Caravans owners Adrian Cappola and Peter Smith have taken the brand upmarket while aggressively rolling out new models and innovative features.
A frontrunner in integrating the latest, domestic-style appliances and technology into caravans, Elite introduced the 24ft Murray Home Theatre Van earlier this year, featuring a Gold Class cinema-style set-up including 60inch TV and Blu-Ray surround sound.
Elite also fits full-size washer dryers and home-style, split-system air-conditioners into some of its bigger, double and triple axle vans, and recently introduced a compact new off-road model designed to follow your four-wheel drive down the most narrow, rugged tracks.
Cappola said the award was a testament to the quality products produced by the team at Elite Caravans.
“It’s nice to have the company recognised in this light,” he said. “We really have set out to produce exceptional product, customer service and a brand that is loved by all.”
“With over 10,400 Facebook fans (the largest in the Southern Hemisphere for a caravan manufacturer), growing sales and dealer network and now this award we must be doing something right.”
Continuing its new model onslaught, Elite will soon add a new Family Offroad range to its already extensive line-up of off-road, touring and family models.
“It’s exciting times at Elite Caravans and we feel like we have only just started,” he said.
