Elite creates ultimate booze bus
Melbourne manufacturer builds colourful and quirky van for Victorian boutique wineryAustralia’s most flamboyant RV manufacturer, Elite Caravans, has done it again, creating a unique, themed caravan for boutique Victorian winery Feathertop.
Part mobile cellar door/part trendy family van, the one-off tandem axle bunk van was built by Elite in conjunction with other supporters of the project including G & S Chassis, Dometic Australia, Fusion Entertainment, IntelliTrac, and The Bathroom Shop.
While the bold, winery-theme vinyl body wrap makes the van stand out like a mobile booze bus on a Friday night, the bespoke interior is equally eye-catching with loads of interesting touches including a small kitchen ‘splashback’ made from wine bottle corks.
Other highlights are an inviting double bed/day bed occupying the front section, an extra-long, ultra-modern galley with large, timber slide-out to create more bench space, and a super-sized external slide-out kitchen incorporating a gas cooktop and BBQ.
The owners of the Porepunkah, Victoria-based Feathertop Winery, Kel and Janelle Boynton together with their two children set off on an extended trip in the customized van in late July. They will be staying at BIG4 parks around Australia, and are documenting the trip on a special website.
The Feathertop van is the latest attention-grabber from the Campbellfield, Victoria-based Elite, following a brace of blue and red vans built for TV show Reno Rumble and the eardrum-busting Mobile Man Cave.
