A racing red campervan is not the only colourful surprise Adria has revealed for its 50th anniversary celebrations in 2015.
The Slovenian manufacturer has broken away from the pack and introduced an industry-first ‘design your own caravan’ package, which allows buyers to select from 29 exterior colour combinations on a new compact four-berth model.
Offering the option to personalise the exterior look of your vehicle has been a hugely successful ploy in the car industry, particularly on fun cars like the MINI, but is rarely offered in the RV industry apart from minor variations in paint options, decals and cladding.
The new 3.6m long, single axle Altea 4Four caravan also comes with a
smart new interior design with choice of graphite or silver textiles,
and Adria’s new curved, panoramic sky-roof with easy-glide UV screening
as well as built-in screens and blinds.
According to Adria, “this pioneering caravan has been made to celebrate the company's 50th birthday and could signal the future of the caravanning industry, with customer-driven caravan customization".
“The new Altea 4four enables customers to 'design their own caravan' on-line, using pioneering new technology and materials including new printed Euromax Aludesign sidewalls, combined with matching modular ABS plastic body parts with up-to 29 colour combinations available - including white.”
Buyers can choose from four different colours – blue, yellow, green, silver – for the ABS front and rear walls, sidewall skirtings and interior cushions.
?If they really want to stand out there are six ‘Signature Edition’ sidewall patterns – Décor, Dots, Style, Casual, Kaleidascope, Stripes – allowing the chance to go as mild or wild as their heart desires.
Buyers design their caravan's appearance on the Adria configurator at altea4four.com, email it to their selected dealer and arrange an appointment to confirm their order.
The eye-catching example on display at this week's Dusseldorf Caravan
Show featured the yellow front and rear walls and skirtings with
Kaleidascope side wall pattern.

No word yet on whether the radical Altea 4Four model will join existing Adria models in Australia, but it would certainly make an interesting option alongside other bright new entrants like the six colour Winnebago Minnie.
