It’s been a lean time for many Australian new caravan buyers with reduced supply due to COVID component restrictions, but Queensland’s Sunseeker Caravans has acquired a cache of Marvel RVs spanning three models that will soon be available for immediate delivery.
Starting prices from $90,075-$114,200 delivered on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, the Marvels – spanning the make’s Sea Breeze Sport, Golden Child (Bunks) and Thunder Storm touring all-road and off-road ranges, and all built exclusively in Melbourne for Sunseeker – offer the benefit of delivery in good time for Christmas and the 2023 New Year holiday break.
With a variety of layouts available across the models, this is good news for frustrated caravan holiday makers, who have seen quoted delivery times on most new caravans being pushed out to late 2023, or in some cases, 2024.
In some cases, this can mean ‘never’, as advancing age, corresponding health, diminishing income and growing teenage children and their higher education schooling needs have effectively been closing this travel window.
The new caravan cache comes from a combination of improved component supply and cancelled orders, as many intending travellers realise they cannot allocate as much time or money to a big trip as they had planned originally.
Priced from $90,075, the Marvel Sea Breeze Sport with lengths from 18ft to 22ft 6in is a full time touring caravan with the flexibility of off-road twin shock absorber independent trailing arm suspension and a DO-35 articulated coupling that with its standard 200AH of battery power, 360 Watts of rooftop solar and 190 litres of fresh water capacity, is well-equipped for free camping.
A standard washing machine, a large internal fridge/freezer, 24-inch Smart LED TV with internal and external TV points and a Bluetooth sound system also ensure that the comforts of home travel with you.
Priced from $104,759 and available in lengths from 18ft to 21ft 6in, the Marvel Golden Child is similarly equipped for around-Australia travel, with its premium off-road set-up featuring independent coil spring suspension with twin shocks, while its insulated aluminium composite exterior walls, one-piece insulated fibreglass roof, one-piece ply floor, double-glazed windows, checker-plate front, side and rear body protection, 31-inch wheels and an Australian-made steel chassis are designed to withstand the rigors of climate extremes.
Topping the new caravans available and priced from $114,200 is the Marvel Thunder Storm bunk 'van.
Designed to encourage you to venture off the beaten track in confidence, it comes standard with 540 Watts of rooftop solar, a lithium battery system, premium off-road suspension, disc brakes and large 33-inch wheels everything that the serious off-roader needs to handle Australia’s most remote destinations.
With 200 Amps of lithium battery power and 285L of fresh drinking water capacity, plus a grey water tank for use in national parks and free camps, it's equipped to allow you to explore lesser-seen parts of Australia, while a 224-litre compressor fridge/freezer, internal and external points for the 24-inch smart LED TV and a Bluetooth sound system provide home-like comfort wherever you travel.
However, Sunseeker isn't the only retail outlet breaking the new caravan 'drought, with other enticing 'driveaway deals' starting to emerge, like the latest 3500kg ATM-rated Suit of Armour vans from Harvok.
If you're quick you might be able to tow away one of the striking 'full metal jacket' vans almost immediately, with a limited number available priced from a wallet-friendly $109,990.
Melbourne multi-brand dealer Freestyle RVs also has a number of ready-to-roll caravans in stock, from manufacturers including La Vista, Elevation, Atlas and Nova, as demand for new caravans softens from its COVID high peak.
