Already the leading supplier of caravan fridges and RV air-conditioners in Australia, Dometic is hoping to expand its market share further with the recent introduction of two new, cutting-edge products.
According to Dometic, the Harrier Inverter reverse-cycle rooftop air-conditioner is the first use of an inverter compressor in an RV application, and can help eliminate start-up current issues when running from a generator or when current supply is restricted.
Dometic claims the 45kg unit is extremely quiet, even when running at maximum speed and has a 3.1kW cooling capacity, making it the most powerful in its class.
It also has a number of ‘comfort’ features including remote controlled oscillating vents and cold plasma air purification.
Suitable for large caravans up to seven metres in length, the Harrier Inverter can be fitted ‘straight out of the box’ to 360x360mm and 400x400m roof openings, without the need for additional components. The RRP is $2495.
Dometic Australia has also released a new version of the Waeco portable 12V battery, that will run a portable compressor fridge/freezer and is designed as an alternative to permanently fitting a second battery to your vehicle.
The CoolPower RAPS44 has a bigger 44Ah deep-cycle AGM battery, and features dual output sockets, built-in posts for charging via 240V to a DC charger, 1.5m 12V charging lead, and digital volts display. It’s also rechargeable via solar panels.
The battery pack weighs 13.5kg and has a RRP of $379.
