Along with Aircommand, Dometic is a major supplier of roof-mounted air-conditioners to the local RV manufacturing industry.
Now the company has introduced to Australia what it describes as “a new lighter, smaller and more efficient series of roof top air conditioners”.
The latest FreshJet reverse cycle units can be operated via remote control and feature ‘Soft-start’, for reduced current draw during start up when running a compatible generator or when current supply is restricted.
They also feature a new air distribution box (ADB) with four way vents, and 12 volt LED ambient lighting.
Pricing starts at $2150 for the two models available: a 2.2kW (nominal compressor capacity) FJ2200 which weighs 33kg and is designed for smaller pop-tops, and a bigger, 3kW FJ3200.
Both feature a low-profile design, and an operating temperature range of between zero and 52 degrees Celcius. The FJ2200 model also features free ventilation of 650 mm², which Dometic says can contribute to the overall requirements for gas regulations.
