Caravan doors are not usually something to get excited about, but the latest CaraD-600F caravan door from Dometic is an exception with its stylish European looks, user-friendly design and range of fully tested safety features.
One of the key things that set it apart from other caravan doors is the use of a highly resistant safety mesh for the ‘inner’ panel. According to Dometic, the mesh has been independently tested to withstand 180 joules of impact, or almost twice the Australian recommended standard.
So unlike flimsier inner mesh screens found on many other caravan doors, air can flow through without compromising on strength or safety.
The outer panel, which also has a fully tested latching system, is available in either safety glass (pictured) or aluminium, while a unique, four point locking system prevents the door from swinging open when travelling.
Other handy features include a built-in roller blind and dark tint for the lower glass panel, a built-in magnetic door latch and a chrome, easy grab handle design.
The door is available in left and right-hinged versions and in two sizes -- 1750m x 622mm and 1850mm x 622mm -- although the larger version is only available with the aluminium outer panel.
Some of Australia’s biggest RV manufacturers including Jayco and Avida are already fitting the CaraD-600F door to their latest models, while it's also proving its worth on the latest range of
UK-built Swift Explorer caravans.
Priced in the retail market from $1599, you can buy the CaraD-600F from Dometic stockists or order online at the Dometic RV Centre website.
