Dashcam captures caravan jackknife

Driver and passenger walk away after terrifying jackknife on Sydney bridge
The driver and passenger of a Mitsubishi van towing an old Viscount caravan have walked away after their rig jack-knifed on a busy Sydney bridge.
Dashcam footage from a car behind shows the caravan beginning to sway before losing control and hitting the side railing on the M1 motorway, north of Sydney.
The rig then violently spins around in a haze of tyre smoke, crossing two lanes before coming to rest on the safety wall facing the opposite direction.
After checking his passenger, the shaken driver gets out to survey the damage, as other traffic including a LandCruiser towing a European caravan slowly pass by.
The near-miss occurred in March but the footage only recently made it on to YouTube, where it has been viewed more than 17,000 times.
With the rising popularity of dash cams, caravan-sway related mishaps are increasingly being videoed and shared on the internet. Many of them are witnessed by truck drivers, like this spectacular roll-over.
