Conqueror Australia's range of Army-inspired camper trailers has generated a loyal following since arriving in the country around three years ago.
But now the Australian arm of the South African camper trailer manufacturer has turned its talents to designing and building a unique and very tough looking ute-based camper, to be unveiled later this week at the National 4x4 & Outdoors Show and Fishing & Boating Expo at the Melbourne Showgrounds from August 23-25.
The fully-engineered unit, dubbed the UEV-79, is based on a Toyota Landcruiser Double Cab ute and according to Conqueror, is set to change the Australian four-wheel-driving and adventuring scenes forever.
Capable of sleeping four, the ute camper is dripping with the sort of stuff required of remote Outback trips, including a custom three inch suspension lift, 35 inch tyres, twin fridges, built-in shower, twin 215 litre fuel tanks, and 140 litre water tank.
Power is taken care of by four Deka Intimidator 105aH batteries, while the engine management and tuning diagnostic system is controlled through an interior touchscreen display monitor, which also houses among other things all Hema and Australian topographic maps.
Owner Toby Bosschieter, of 'Escape with ET' TV fame, claimed the UEV-79’s “capabilities are incredible” after taking it on a research and development trip across Australia recently.
Bosschieter said the aim was to “design and create an off-road vehicle like nothing else in Australia, and we feel we’ve achieved this in the UEV-79”.
The UEV-79 will be on display at the Conqueror Australia stand at the show, and while currently a one-off Conqueror is seeking expressions of interest from prospective buyers. With a base price of around $70,000 for the ute alone, you'd need deep pockets though!
As well as a mouth-watering array of 4WD accessories from more than 220 exhibitors, RV enthusiasts who visit the Melbourne 4x4 show can also look forward to seeing Ultimate Campers’ new Xplor off-road camper, as well as the striking, 20th anniversary JV Signature Edition Oztent.
Howling Moon and Avenger 4x4 will also have on display some of their newest products, including the super-ventilated Stargazer roof tent and new Swallow Awning.
