A few months after launching its first touring caravan in 54 years of manufacturing, Sydney’s Cub Campers has freshened up its popular range of locally built rear-fold, forward-fold and double-fold tent trailers for 2023.
All seven Cub camper trailer models have benefitted from a number of mostly minor updates, including merit sockets being replaced with accessory sockets and a new 12V Master switch that shuts out all the lights in one flick.
The lightweight entry-level ($24,990) Weekender rear-fold camper gets a new exterior colour (Pale Eucalypt), along with new-look black wheels and tail-lights, red zip slides, a Deluxe awning, internal front window flap, under-bed LED sensor light, powdercoated kitchen and pantry track and frame, and upgraded tie-down points on the roof rack.
The rough-road Explorer rear-fold ($29,990) gets most of the Weekender updates along with an additional 4kg gas bottle holder and jockey wheel clamp, while the more feature-packed Brumby rear-fold bush basher ($37,990) also gets a single 100Ah lithium battery, bedside USB ports, additional LED lights and a “tough new look with black panels”.
Meanwhile, the range-topping off-road rear-fold Escape ($47,990) benefits from 24 changes or updates in total, including a new pillow-top mattress, 100Ah lithium battery, a Fusion stereo with four-inch speakers, and heavy-duty coil springs and twin shocks for the off-road suspension, along with an ATM increase to 1900kg.
Cub’s two forward-fold models, the Scout ($47,990) and Frontier ($48,990), also boast a few refreshed features, while the top-spec double-fold Drifter ($58,990) now comes as standard with a 240Ah lithium battery, among other changes.
There are no reported updates for the Cub 16 caravan released in September 2022, with the starting price for the 16ft hybrid off-road composite caravan remaining at $129,990.
