Two years after first hitting the market, Sydney's Cub Campers has updated its range-topping Drifter II hard-floor family camper model.
Cub says its latest 2022-model Cub Drifter II comes with many features standard that were previously options, including new 'Monument' dark grey side panels, a 100mm longer drawbar and a new clamp on the drawbar to attach the jockey wheel when towing.
The main bed inside is now larger, at a 'Cub King' sized 2100mm x 1600mm x 135mm, and gets a more comfortable Slumberest Cloud 9 Pillow Top mattress, while additional corner in-fill cushions have been added around the dinette area.
The Drifter II camper's battery system has also been upgraded with two 100Ah lithium batteries in lieu of the previous AGM batteries, together with lithium-compatible Projecta IDC25L (12V) and Projecta IC2500L (240V) battery chargers.
Cub has also added a 12V master switch and 12V resettable fuse for the fridge, a 12V accessory/USB socket inside the driver’s side locker and three new LED sensor lights – two under the lounges and one in the driver’s side locker – that automatically switch on when accessing these areas. A Fusion stereo with twin speakers is also now standard on the latest Drifter.
Cub says despite adding over 20 new standard features to the 2022 Drifter model, it's almost 40kg lighter than the previous version with a Tare weight of 1414kg.
The six-berth Drifter II was introduced to the market as the only fully Australian-built ‘double fold’ tent camper and is Cub Campers’ most expensive model, with a listed price of $54,000 on the Victorian dealer website. For further details see the Cub Campers website.
