Cub announces new F14 pop-top hybrid

Sydney camper manufacturer adds a fifth hybrid model to its range, priced from $69,990

Cub Campers is moving further away from its budget tent trailer roots, with the announcement of a new hybrid pop-top model priced from $69,990.

Described by the 56-year old Sydney camper manufacturer as "a revolutionary new fusion of caravan and camper trailer", the new Cub F14 features a new darker colour scheme to help it stand out from other Cub models, and boasts the lowest profile of any Cub hybrid to date with a travelling height of 2.06m.

"The F14 is the perfect model for those looking for an affordable hybrid that fits under a typical garage or car port," Cub Campers said on its website.

Fitted with an electric pop top roof, the F14 can extend up to 2.035m internally, while Cub says the internal kitchenette has 50 per cent more storage and bench space than other Cub hybrids.

In order to free up additional internal storage space, the Cub F14 will come standard with an external shower with built-in shower tent and Portaloo storage.

Other standard features include a king pillow top mattress, a four speaker Fusion Bluetooth stereo, Fiamma awning, 150Ah lithium battery and 180W Redarc monocrystalline solar panels, a 100L freshwater tank and 50L greywater tank, interior and exterior lighting, an ARK jockey wheel, independent suspension, a stone guard and stonestopper mud flaps, a Redarc Redvision panel, and a Webasto diesel hot water and space heater.

The internal layout includes a king bed, a three-person dinette/lounge with twin adjustable tables and a rear kitchenette with sink and mixer tap.

The outdoor stainless steel kitchen is the same as on other Cub hybrids and includes a three burner stove and sink. The F14 is also the first Cub hybrid to feature an external galley pantry above the outside kitchen.

An internal 115 litre Dometic fridge and microwave and up to 600Ah lithium batteries, 1080W of solar and 300L of freshwater are among a number of options available.

The F14 is designed for couples who want to head off-road, and Tare weight is approximately 1730kg with a ball weight of around 170kg, which also makes the F14 the lightest Cub hybrid.

The Cub F14 is available at a special introductory price of $69,990 for a limited time. Cub hasn't announced when the first F14 will be built or when it will go into production.

The F14 pop-top is the fifth model launched in Cub's hybrid range since mid-2022, when Cub launched its first ever canvas-free model, the C16 caravan.
