CTIA industry awards

The CTIAV Industry Awards and Caravan Industry Cup was held at Moonee Valley on Saturday 17 November 2007

Over 220 industry members attended the function, with six members sponsoring the night's harness races. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of two industry awards. The first presentation of the evening was the George Pantazopoulos CTIAV Young Achievers Award, which is open to those working in the industry aged under 30. This year's nominees were Craig Henry from Melbourne Trailer and Caravan Supplies and Melissa Hunter from Sunliner RV. Craig and Melissa were both recognised for their outstanding achievements and their commitment to the industry, so early in their careers. Helen Chetcuti, sister of the late George Pantazopoulos in whose memory the award is named, presented the award to Melissa Hunter.

The Charlie Tebb CTIAV Service to the Industry Award was next on the agenda, and Des Tebb announced the recipient of this award. The big surprise of the evening was when Des declared a dead heat, with Bruce Astbury from Jayco and Tom Henry from Melbourne Trailer and Caravan Supplies taking out joint honours.
