Cruisemaster cracks US market

American Boreas campers fitted as standard with Queensland-built off-road suspension

Queensland off-road suspension specialist Cruisemaster has made a significant breakthrough in the American RV market, with the announcement that Denver, Colarado-based Boreas Campers will fit Cruisemaster's CRS2 independent coil suspension as standard across its compact, lightweight off-road camper range.

While the Queensland-made Cruisemaster components have previously been available in the US aftermarket, Boreas is the first North American camper manufacturer to install Cruisemaster suspension as standard on its models.

Introduced in 2018, the CRS2 is a lighter, stronger update of the original CRS2 semi-off road independent trailing-arm suspension designed for single and tamdem-axle caravans and camper trailers.

The Cruisemaster CRS2 will be fitted to all 2021-model Boreas AT and XT camper trailers, along with Cruisemaster's DO-35 off-road coupling.

"Heading into 2021 we are particularly excited to see Boreas Campers come on board as the first US manufacturer to be fitting Cruisemaster suspension as standard on their trailer models," Cruisemaster Australia Managing Director Andrew Goddard said.

"On the Boreas Camper you will see the exact same Australian made, tested and proven Cruisemaster gear that has become iconic in the Australian caravan and camper trailer markets over the years.”

Colorado-based Boreas is the first US brand to fit Cruisemaster suspension as standard

The Cruisemaster components are among a number of upgrades on the Denver, Colorado-built 2021 Boreas AT and XT box campers, which boast lightweight, composite construction and compact dimensions for serious off-road travel.

“At Boreas Campers we want to continue to be a leader in progressing the capabilities of the offroad trailer market in North America," Boreas Campers Founder and President Matt Reichel said. "Our customers want a camper that can go as far offroad as their overland tow vehicle, and when we were looking for suspension that could get our trailers there Cruisemaster was the clear option.

"We are excited to introduce the American market to this incredibly robust, high quality suspension and to see how it is pushed to the limits in the Rocky Mountains and beyond.”

Cruisemaster exhibited for the first time in the USA in 2019 at the Overland East Expo, and its components are also fitted to Australian-built campers exported to the US, including the BRS Sherpa and Patriot X1.
