Creative makes headway
Vic dealership Creative Caravans is getting, well, creative.During what seemed a positive flood of new arrivals on the caravan building block, in early 2005 the name Creative Caravans made its appearance.
Kean Walker (pictured) and Leon Blackley had hung up their shingle under the name of Used Caravans Victoria some time ago, two young family men starting out in business together.
“We’ve been on this site, on the well known caravan strip of Geelong’s, Bellarine Highway, since August last year,” Kean told CW.
“We both have years of caravan sales experience and recognised the need for better customer service and a business designed to meet the requirements of young families like ours.”
The team started, as the name suggests, selling only secondhand vans, but the opportunity soon arose for Kean and Leon to take on a totally new brand, Creative, which also meant they required a new name. Thus Caravans ‘R’ Us came into being, and the business now trades under both names.
Creative Caravans is a small Melbourne-based business building a range of competitively priced vans that are well equipped as standard.
“A wide variety of layouts, sizes, full height and family floorplans is available from Creative, with pop-tops on the way,” said Kean.
“The Tanami range of vans offers a complete package of comfort, space and features to ensure travelling around this big country is very enjoyable.
“Standard features include heavy duty G&S chassis, 10in electric brakes, 12/240V power system, two 100A batteries and charger, 12V lighting, MP3/DVD player, flatscreen TV, wired for solar, 150L three-way fridge, outside barbecue and dropdown table, microsuede upholstery, queen size innerspring mattress and orthopaedic slats, aircon and heaps more.”
The shower model Tanami CW looked at had a well designed ensuite with heaps of storage space, and the cabinetry all looked properly finished and solidly put together. There was also a family van on the lot, with bunks and a spacious living area. We hope to bring readers a full product review in the near future.
Kean and Leon are also now distributors for 3 Dog camper trailers.
