We have now updated our decision based on advice from the Chief Health Officer and will welcome all guests, including our Twelve Month Permit holders back into our parks. But please remember, if you feel unwell you should stay at home. If you have symptoms of Coronavirus (COVID-19), however mild, you should get tested. It’s up to all of us to make this work."
The manager of a group of popular caravan parks close to Victoria's Great Ocean Road has taken the unprecedented step of banning residents from so-called Melbourne COVID-19 'hot-spots'.
"To protect the health and safety of our staff, visitors and coastal communities, we will not be taking upcoming bookings, and will be cancelling all current bookings, from guests that live in the identified hotspot council areas of Hume, Casey, Brimbank, Moreland, Cardinia and Darebin," the Great Ocean Road Coast Committee (GORCC) said in an online statement.
"We will be contacting guests from these areas with current bookings to cancel their booking in the coming days. This will apply to all bookings up until Monday 13 July and include Twelve Month Permit Holders."
"We will not be lifting these restrictions until the Victorian Government advises that community transmission in these areas is under control."
The GORCC-managed Torquay Foreshore, Anglesea Family and Lorne Foreshore Caravan Parks have been fully open to holidaymakers since June 22, following a recent relaxation of social distancing rules in Victoria.
However, due to a recent rise in coronavirus cases in some Melbourne regions, the Victorian Government is restricting movement in and out of 'hot spot' areas, including the City of Hume, which includes as many as 50 RV dealers and manufacturers clustered in and around the industrial suburb of Campbellfield.
