Melbourne's Crusader Caravans has lifted the wraps on the 'mystery' caravan that will be given away at Caravan Industry Victoria shows later this year.
We can now reveal the Passport to Freedom prize is a 2025-build Dreamhaven 15 Series Tourline couple's ensuite caravan (just like this one advertised on caravancampingsales), built at the Melbourne factory of Crusader Caravans and valued at $68,990.
A first batch of budget-priced, Dreamhaven on-road full-height caravans have been delivered to Crusader's Melbourne dealership, along with other Crusader outlets, including 15ft, 18ft, 19ft, 20ft and 21ft models, with both couple ensuite and family bunk layouts available.
Like all latest Crusader 'vans, the new Dreamhaven models boasts sandwich panel composite construction and are built in Crusader's busy Melbourne factory. The traditional white and black glossy exterior should also appeal to a large proportion of footy fans (Crusader is a major sponsor of the Collingwood AFL team).
The entry-level Dreamhaven 15 Series Tourline (pictured above) is, as the model name suggests, a 15ft (body length) single-axle on-road 'van ready for bitumen highway touring and comfy caravan park camping, with a 50mm ball coupling, leaf spring suspension, 12in electric drum brakes and 16in alloy wheels included in the package.
The Dreamhaven 15 Series Tourline also comes fitted with a 110Ah lithium battery, a 220W rooftop solar panel and a touchscreen control panel, along with a wireless reversing camera, A-frame toolbox, two 110L fresh water tanks and a gas/electric hot water system.
While inside you get TV and audio entertainment, an all-gas cooktop, microwave, rangehood, 170L compressor fridge and freezer, a rooftop air-conditioner, and a separate shower and toilet.
The Tare weight for the new fibreglass 15 footer is listed at 1898kg, with a ball weight of 130kg and an ATM of 2500kg.
Crusader Melbourne is also advertising some pricier 'Super X' semi off-road Dreamhaven variants, fitted with extras like a bigger 224L fridge/freezer, larger A-frame toolbox and stone guard, Cruisemaster DO-35 coupling, checker plate tunnel boot, and trailing arm independent coil spring suspension with twin shocks.
The Super X add ons increase the price of the Dreamhaven Tourline 'vans by around $12,000, while also advertised at the Melbourne dealer is a standard 18 Series Tourline for $72,690 drive-away, a 19 Series Tourline ($74,190 drive-away) and a 20 Series Tourline ($76,690 drive-away).
There's also a Bunk 21 Series Tourline family 'van priced at $77,180 drive-away.
When officially launched later this month, the new Dreamhaven Tourline and Super X models will be among the cheapest Crusader full-size ensuite caravans you can buy, except perhaps for Crusader's entry-level Lifechanger model.
With rising numbers of wallet-friendly and well-equipped Chinese-built composite caravans entering the country and competing for buyers in the high-volume, sub-$80,000 entry-level category, Crusader is the latest big Aussie caravan manufacturer to fight back with a sharply-priced range of full composite, luxury 'van-style bitumen tourers.
The Melbourne-based JB Group also released its cut-price Traveller Destination range earlier this year, starting from just $57,990 RRP. While other big-name brands like Jayco and Royal Flair have been sharpening pencils and releasing more affordable models in a tough market for RV retailers.
Meanwhile, Crusader will have the full Dreamhaven range on display at Melbourne Leisurefest at the Sandown Racecourse (September 18-21), after making its public debut at the 2025 Tasmanian Outdoor Life & Caravan Show and 2025 Sydney 4WD & Adventure Show, earlier this month.
You can also check out the new Crusader Dreamhaven caravans including the Super X semi-offroad variants, currently advertised for sale on caravancampingsales. Also keep an eye on the new Dreamhaven Caravans website for updates.
