Most dash cam footage involving caravans features foul language and often ends in tears, but a new video recorded from the cabin of a large truck provides a lesson in polite 'sharing the road' communication and resulted in smiles all round...
The social media post titled 'Old mate absolutely nailed out' also highlights the importance of UHF radio communication between caravanners and truckies when it comes to road safety.
Sitting behind a heavyweight caravan rig on a two-lane stretch of bitumen highway, the driver of the road train starts up a conversation via two-way radio, which about a minute later results in a fuss-free and safe overtaking manoeuvre.

Not surprising, in a world where clueless caravanners and irate truckies are commonplace, the otherwise uneventful Facebook post has gone viral, attracting 1.9million views and more than 1500 comments since late-January, with most comments along the lines of this from Andrew Mathews: "It's not hard is it? Good to see."
Another commenter Allister Wood, went a bit further..
"All caravanners, I mean all, that don’t have a UHF radio need to get one, even a hand held cheapie and do what this driver did. Awesome and makes you feel good when you do it. Trucks have a strict schedule, caravanners don’t. It’s that simple."
