Dreamt of owning a slick, off-road camper from Complete Campsite, but can’t afford the almost $30,000 price for the cheapest soft-floor model?
Don’t despair, as the
multi award-winning NSW manufacturer has just released a new, cut-price soft-floor camper priced from just $19,950, or $9000 less than the previous entry-level Jabiru camper.
The only catch is that to keep the price down on the new Gunyah model, many of the Jabiru features are not included as standard, such as 90 litre water tank and 12V pump, 100 amp deep cycle battery and battery charger, power and water guage and slide-out kitchen.
"What buyers are getting are the bones of our top-of-the range models for under $20,000," said Complete Campsite's Grant Joyce.
Even such basic items as twin 4.5kg gas bottles and jerry cans have been excluded to save costs.?
?However, the basic ‘starter’ model does include much of the rock-solid engineering, construction and design elements of pricier Complete Campsite models, including a front toolbox and enclosed sides with external lockers on each side, 50mm square axle, 12in electric brakes, DO35 hitch, nine leaf rebound suspension, stone guard, walk-up access to the queen sized bed, and fold-out 13ft Wax Converters canvas tent with awning.
Tare weight is around 750kg and the ATM 2000kg.

While basic, the Gunyah can be upgraded with a number of options, either at purchase or at a later stage as needs change or the budget permits.
"Everything's easily retrofitted at a later stage," he said. "If buyers are handy with the electrics they could even put batteries and lights in themselves, or put in a cheaper Drifta kitchen to save money."
By the way, a gunyah is a small, temporary shelter or ‘humpy’ traditionally used by Aborigines.
