Jayco has a new entry-level model, with the official launch of a new bare-bones aluminium toy hauler priced from $22,590 RRP.
After displaying prototypes at this year's Victorian Caravan Supershow, the new olive green and black, Jayco Crosstrail is now rolling out to dealerships around the country, under-cutting Jayco's most affordable wind-up camper trailer by around a couple thousand dollars, before any options are added.
Jayco says its new lightweight toy-trailer "is a highly versatile base trailer that can be
customised with an extensive list of optional extras — making it the ultimate companion for
adventure enthusiasts".
Featuring powdercoated aluminium bodywork and a hot dipped galvanised chassis with JTECH 2.0 independent coil suspension, the Crosstrail has the capacity to transport up to three large motorcycles (road or off-road) or a single quad bike on its heavy-duty tread plate floor, with the assistance of aluminium folding loading ramps, 'lay flat' front wheel supports and recessed tie points.
Other standard features include a heavy-duty hinged, lift-up gas strut-assisted roof rack, 245/70R16 dirt tyres (including an underslung spare), jerry can holders, and a storage space with firewood/storage box above.
Depending on what's fitted, the 3.53m long Crosstrail Outback trailer has a Tare weight of just over one tonne, with an ATM of around 1800kg.
Buyers can customise their setup with a wide range of optional upgrade packs available, which include a power pack, plumbing pack, slide-out kitchen, and a slide-out storage tub above the cooker.
Other extra-cost accessories are also available, including a rooftop tent, front tool box, 180 degree awning, slide-out storage tray, slide-out fridge tray, a 60L MyCoolman fridge, stone guard and Maxtrax recovery planks.
"This impressive addition to the Jayco line-up features an exceptional Australian-designed and manufactured aluminium body, ideal for transporting bikes or other leisure toys," Jayco National head of sales and marketing, Scott Jones said.
"Available as a base trailer or optioned until it’s a fully spec’d toy hauler, there’s an option for every adventure enthusiast."
