Two caravan rollovers on Queensland’s chaotic Bruce Highway over the past week have put the spotlight on safe driving with big caravans in tow.
Alarming dashcam footage has emerged of a Jeep towing a caravan on a flat, straight, two lane section of the highway, losing control after attempting to change lanes and crashing violently on to the median strip.
According to Dash Cam Owners Australia which posted the video, the rollover took place about 11km south of the Bruce Hwy - Caloundra Road intersection.
The large caravan was destroyed in the crash, but reportedly no-one was injured.
The video has been viewed more than 163,000 times and so far received more than 1300 comments.
Meanwhile, what appears to be a New Age tandem axle caravan towed by a Ford Everest has flipped while driving along the Bruce Hwy near Tiaro.
It was reported that two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries following the crash which saw the rig spear off the road, leaving the tow vehicle upright but the caravan flipped on to its roof.
The congested Bruce Highway is a notorious hot spot for traffic chaos, with another caravan rollover resulting in minor injuries occuring along the major thoroughfare at Rosemount earlier this month.
