South Australia police have released CCTV footage of brazen thieves stealing a caravan from the Adelaide suburb of Prospect on Tuesday, March 22.
The grainy footage shows the driver in what looks like a Holden Crewman ute backing up to the big tandem axle caravan's coupling, with the help of hand signals from a male accomplice who then proceeds to quickly connect the caravan to the tow vehicle.
The whole process takes place under the cover of darkness and in less than a minute, before the accomplice hops into the passenger side seat and the RV rig gets ready to speed off into the night...
"Just after midnight on Tuesday 22 March a grey station wagon has hitched the caravan and driven off with it," SA police said. "Two people can been seen stealing the white Traveller caravan bearing SA registration plates YIP688."
"Anyone with any information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report online at Crime Stoppers SA. If you see the caravan in your travels please call the Police Assistance Line on 131 444."
Meanwhile, Queensland Police said a silver 2022 Newgen NG2022 caravan similar to this one, was stolen from a business on Pinewood Avenue, Gympie around 11:45pm on March 13.
The brand-new van was not bearing any registration plates and was described as silver with yellow stickers and black checkerplate on the bottom.
A silver Toyota Landcruiser with damage was seen in the area around that time.
Anyone with information regarding the location of the stolen Newgen caravan or the offence itself, can contact Queensland Police via Policelink and quote QP2200436595.
