Peer-to-peer RV rental service Camplify is offering a 'turn key' emergency accommodation option for remote-site workers during the coronavirus crisis.
Working with some of its small fleet operators that advertise a number of caravans or motorhomes for hire on the online platform, Camplify said the "emergency caravan and motorhome solutions (are) available to support remote on-site workers adapting to COVID-19 health guidelines and travel restrictions".
"As the largest network of RVs in Australia with nationwide distribution, Camplify is able to assist essential workplaces in creating pop-up campsites by delivering modern and self-contained motorhomes and caravans direct to locations around the country," Campifly CEO Justin Hales said.
“Over the past five years, our reliable fleet has been able to support many situations, including on-site solutions for workers on shipping docks during industrial disputes, major events, and insurance accommodation for bushfire-impacted families.” Hales said.
“We learned so much from recently supporting local communities throughout bushfire season, and we’re eager to deploy our vehicles once again to protect essential workforces and the health and wellbeing of their employees during this challenging time.”
The plan is to offer modern caravans and motorhomes with double beds, air conditioning and internal kitchen, as well as shower and toilet facilities.
Costs will vary based on location and services offered but should be similar to the weekly cost of renting an apartment. Camplify can also offer cleaning services, catering services and ongoing manintenance for an additional fee.
