Have information on 3000 camp sites at your fingertips with smart phone version of popular guidebookThe publishers of the excellent Camping Around Australia guidebook have developed a smart phone app to make finding a campsite easy wherever you are in Australia.
Like the book, the app has over 3000 camping areas which you can search for by location, facilities, keywords or by campsites near you.
All the campsites, from five-star caravan parks to national park sites with no facilities, have been researched, and come with handy information including a description of the camping area, facilities available, nearby activities, directions and contact details.
There's also the possibility of user feedback and photos supplied on individual campsites, and all the information including maps can be accessed offline as well as online which means you can search for campsites when you’re out of mobile range.
The app also includes emergency contact details for every state as well as a camping checklist, covering your trip from go to whoa.
Only available for Apple devices including iPhone and iPad, the Camping Around Australia app is available from the
iTunes store for $10.99 -- or $44 less than the book on which it’s based on.
