Camp Cooking: Beef sliders

Quick and tasty burgers for hungry caravanners and campers

Sliders are delicious bite-size burgers and are all the rage in bars and restaurants around Australia these days.

But who said you couldn’t have them in the great outdoors too?  And they’re so easy to prepare, cook and eat. Here’s what you need…

Prep time:  5-7 minutes
Cooking time:  25-30 minutes

Ingredients

-  400-500 grams ground beef  (or more depending on how many people you’re feeding!)
- Aluminium foil (cut into squares)
- 4-5 carrots sliced
- 2-3 small capsicums, chopped
- Dried onion flakes
-Salt and pepper
-Mini bread rolls
- Ketchup  or another condiment of your choice

Method  

- Separate meat into patties
- Cut foil into squares and place each patty in the center of the foil
- Top each patty with equal portions of sliced carrots and capsicum and season with onion flakes
- Season with salt and pepper
- Seal the foil
- Place on hot coals for approx. 15 minutes
- Turn and cook an additional 10 minutes to your liking
- Place patties in slider rolls and add your favourite sauce and enjoy!
