Five years after launching the radical Bruder EXP-6 'expedition trailer' on to Australian and international markets, Brisbane-based Bruder X has released an upgraded Mk2 version of its extreme off-road hybrid family camper.
Priced from $198,000, the Bruder EXP-6 Mk2 features a more user-friendly inside/outside kitchen set-up, increased storage options and a new electronic smart management system.
"The Mk2 EXP-6 benefits from a redesigned kitchen which allows for the kitchen to be easier accessed from inside," explained Bruder co-founder Toby Bosschieter.
"A large portion of our trailers are sold internationally so this design change means the EXP-6 is as practical in cold climates (Russia, North America etc) as it is in warmer Australian (or UEA) climates," he said.
"The interior has also gained greater storage capability along with an entirely new electrical system. A collaboration with Garmin, the Bruder touch pad allows every aspect of the Bruder EXP-6 electrical and suspension system to be controlled remotely, the touch screen can be used from inside the tow vehicle, along with maps for navigation."
Otherwise, the six-berth, 3100kg ATM, premium hybrid camper retains all the 'bullet-proof' qualities of the first generation EXP-6, including bespoke 125mm x 75mm chassis and up to 60mm thick composite body panels; unique multi-link independent air suspension including eight vertically mounted shock absorbers and 300mm wheel travel; up to 400 litre fresh water, 800Ah lithium battery and 1200W solar capacity; and all-climate comforts including induction cooktop, inside/outside shower and kitchen and internal toilet, washing machine and diesel heating.
Meanwhile, to showcase the towing stability of its smaller EXP-4 pod camper, Bruder recently released a video on social media recording an M-fettled BMW X5 towing a 1000kg (Tare weight) Bruder EXP-4 on a high speed test run, clocking speeds up to 240km/h without any apparent mishaps.
