Brisbane RVs is back in business, after the longstanding Queensland caravan dealership was liquidated in April this year.
Former sales manager Steve Tauzowski has re-opened the gates at the prominent Bruce Highway, Burpengary location after purchasing the rights to use the Brisbane RVs name.
“I could see the potential of the business (and) I am very excited moving forward to offer new opportunities to customers,” Tauzowski said in an online statement.
“I do want you to know that this is not a rebirth and I intend to build good customer satisfaction and service."
A small number of former staff have been re-employed in the sales, administration and service/repair departments of the slimmed-down retail operation, which now incorporates some new “ethical and equitable systems” designed to reassure potential buyers and “gain customer support and trust” according to the new owner.
One of these is a customer trust account that he said will ensure “customer’s money is safe and held in trust until the purchase is fully realized”.
The long-standing family owned business was understood to have debts of more than $5 million before it went into voluntary administration, with some customers left in the lurch after approximately $550,000 in deposits were paid for new caravans prior to the wind-up.
Brisbane RVs was formerly an agent for Paramount, Nova, Fortitude, Lotus and Golden Eagle caravans, but the new set-up will focus on a smaller range of Fortitude and Atlantic caravans along with second-hand vans. It will also provide associated services like insurance, maintenance/repairs, warranty and vehicle accessories.
