New American luxury caravans and a world-first solar-electric tent pole are among new products making their national show debuts at the Border Caravan & Camping Expo, which runs August 15-17 at Wodonga Racecourse.
The Doble SCS 200t, an all-in-one tent pole incorporating solar powered lights and recharging facilities in a single unit, will be one of the most technologically advanced products to make its leisure market debut at Wodonga.
Designed by Australian company Doble Outdoors, and already proving its worth in refugee camps, the solar powered tent pole and USB charger has a slim but powerful LED light and a five watt solar panel angled to catch maximum sunlight.
Also making their first public appearance are two new, feature-packed models from Melbourne-based American caravan importer Cell Caravans.
Like the recently introduced
The Island and Track models, the four-berth Bunkhouse family van and big 26 foot Estate are built in the USA and fitted out in Melbourne to ensure local compliance.
The new products will be part of a decent-sized display at Wodonga that includes more than 200 caravans, motorhomes, camper trailers, campervans, pop-tops, tent trailers, fifth-wheelers and slide-ons
Other new features of this year’s show include a new, single under-cover space for all Jayco models, and a free show bags for the kids, featuring the new Caravanning Explorers’ Club characters.
It will also be one of the last chances to enter the competition to win a unique 23ft family caravan worth over $78,000, being raffled for Kids Under Cover to help prevent youth homelessness.
