The delivery time for a new expedition vehicle from Queensland's SLRV has stretched out to 2023, but you don't have to wait that long with a unique 'battle proven' off-road motorhome built by the respected Queensland manufacturer a few years ago now looking for a new owner.
The one-off SLRV Bushman 4x4 expedition vehicle was custom built for an adventurous couple in 2015, and features a trick, power-operated solid pop-top roof not dissimilar to that fitted to the $2million double-decker MAN 8x8 motorhome SLRV built in 2019.

At 6.8m long by 2.11m wide by 2.78m high in travel mode, the SLRV Bushman is compact enough to explore the tightest bush tracks, as well as fit in a ship container for overseas adventures.
It's based on a Isuzu NPS 300 4x4 (75 155) truck, with numerous off-road mods including front and rear Warn winches, while the fibreglass composite body is bolted on a three-point torsion-free mounting system.
Power for the 7500kg GVM-rated motorhome is courtesy of Isuzu's 5.2-litre diesel engine matched to a five-speed manual transmission, with the 420 litres' fuel capacity good for around 1900km of highway driving.

Free camping is covered off with 1600W of rooftop solar feeding a Mastervolt 560Ah lihium battery system and 250 litres of freshwater, while the hot water, air heater and cooktop all run off diesel.
The luxury interior fit-out includes a drop-down electric double bed over the club lounge, galley kitchen and full ensuite, with a long list of premium features including 200L and 65L fridge/freezers, a 3kg washing machine, powered awning, dual-flush macerator toilet, and a full perimeter 'Panic Lighting System' , along with luxury finishes including Corian benchtops and leather upholstery.

The SLRV Bushman has clocked up around 30,000km travelling around Australia, including a Simpson Desert crossing (you can read up on some of the adventures on the Aussie Bushman website).
With the owners upgrading to bigger MAN 4x4-based SLRV Commander motorhome, the Bushman 4x4 is currently for sale via 'expressions of interest', and can be viewed at SLRV's Molendinar factory.
SLRV’s Warwick Boswerger said the owners are hoping for an offer in excess of $300,000, or about half the new-motorhome price.

And in case you were wondering, the Bushman's stick-on decals should be easily removable for a less ostentatious appearance out in the bush.
Meanwhile, Boswerger said SLRV has more unique custom built expedition vehicles in the works, including new motorhomes based on Freightliner 4x4 and Tatra trucks, as well as another monster MAN 8x8-based single storey motorhome.
