Australian RV power management specialist Setec has come up with a handy new product that allows travellers to monitor their RV's battery performance remotely via a smart phone.
Claimed as a ‘world first’ for the RV industry, the BM Pro BatteryCheck is a small electronic device that connects to a range of standard batteries and communicates wirelessly with Apple and Android smart phones via an easy to use app.
According to Setec, users can view real time data including volts and amps, time remaining, temperature, battery status, state of charge and battery health, all via a touchscreen.
Setec CEO, David Bayliss says the new device eliminates any worry about unexpectedly running out of battery power when out camping.
“The BM Pro BatteryCheck will be invaluable to RV travellers as it eliminates the risk of not knowing if their auxiliary battery has failed or is running low on charge," he said.
"This device provides them with the freedom to wirelessly control and manage the state of battery life in their equipment from their mobile phone.”
The device is relatively easy to install, compatible with most 12V and 24V batteries and is backed by a two year warranty.
It's available for $299 from the BM Pro website, and the app is free.
