NSW-based Carlight Caravans and Trailers, importer of brands such as the lightweight Euro Caravans and Jolly campers, and caravan brand Caravelair, has publicly displayed its new European pop-top mini-caravan that's light enough to be towed by just about any runaround.
Shown for the first time at the 2022 NSW Caravan, Camping Holiday Supershow, the rear-door Jolly Mini Freestyle 270 is built in France by Trigano SA and comes fitted as standard with a stainless-steel sink with tap and 12volt pump, 20-litre fresh water storage tank, 85-litre fridge, 100Ah AGM house battery, 120watt solar blanket, 12volt charger and 240volt power inlet and outlets.
The cosy interior floorplan squeezes in a two-seat cafe dinette that converts to an east-west double bed, along with various internal storage cupboards and LED lighting.
Options available include an awning and an external shower system.
The garage-friendly super-lightweight caravan measures 3950mm long, 1950mm wide and in travel mode, just 1980mm high. With a Tare of 630kg and ATM of just 1200kg, the Mini Freestyle 270 can be towed by most cars and has a generous 570kg payload.
The Mini Freestyle 270 sits on a C-channel galvanised chassis, with typical Euro-style rubber torsion bar suspension along with an extruded polystyrene (XPS) composite body, spring-loaded pop-top roof and meshed/screened pop-out side windows.
An override brake coupling set-up, front boot, four stabiliser legs and a spring-loaded push button park brake are also part of the package.
The Mini Freestyle 270 is priced at $36,500 drive-away in NSW.
