A big downpour has forced the organisers of this year’s Birdsville Big Red Bash to move the major concert from the top of the iconic Big Red sand dune.
“While the rain hasn't adversely impacted the concert and camping site, it has severely impacted the road from Birdsville to Big Red, as well as the access road into the venue from Little Red to Big Red,” the organisers said in a statement.
“Decisions like this are never easy, but the safety of everyone involved is paramount, and this change was the only practical option given the road conditions caused by Sunday’s rain.”
Artists including classic Aussie rockers Jimmy Barnes, Paul Kelly, and The Angels will now perform at the Birdsville Oval, directly opposite the Birdsville Hotel. The rest of the entertainment schedule and camping options in the area are unchanged.
“Ticket holders can still take a scenic drive out to Big Red when the roads dry up and improve, which is expected to happen quickly, given the good weather forecast from now until after the event."
Now in its fourth year, the iconic outback music festival has become for an increasing number of RV manufacturers, a
